When I told you I was working on the closet in the sewing room (which is also where the grandkids sleep when they visit), I don't think I mentioned that I organized my wall-hangings and runners. For awhile now, I have clipped them on skirt/pants hangers and kept them in that closet. Often, though, I'd forget about one for a certain holiday and find it at a totally different time of the year and be disappointed that I'd not used it. SOOO...I decided to make some cute tags to hang on the hangers and grouped the pieces together according to holiday or season. For some holidays, I have more than one hanger. I also put them "in order" in the closet from left to right. As I put the Christmas ones back in the closet, I put them all the way to the right......and now the Valentine ones are next-in-line to be used. If I continue to do that, I can rotate them so the next holiday/season's pieces are right in front of me when I open the closet door!!! Here are a few of my hangers with the tags I made for them. I think it will be much easier now to get things out for each holiday/season, don't you?
Valentine's Day pieces....(one has a St. Patrick's design on the back so it's reversible in case you click on this to enlarge and wonder about that green that is peeking out!)

Some Easter pieces are on this hanger.......

And here are some patrioitic pieces.........It was fun to get this all organized so nicely!

What a clever idea! And very timely as I was wondering how to store a Thanksgiving/Fall runner for next year without it getting creased badly.
Wow are you smart!! Great idea!
what a nice collection you have there.
What a good feeling to get all organized. Your tags are pretty. I now see that I am deficient in the table runner department... must get sewing...
It's impressive how many of these you have, Pat...and now they are organized so you will not forget to enjoy them. Another idea if you feel you really have too many, you could open an Etsy Table Runner store.
That is a fantastic idea! It will make it so much easier to pull a quilt out when you need it for a certain occasion.
Goodness you really are getting organized Pat!!! That is a great idea for hanging the pieces.
Crispy
Definitely the work of a teacher -- it's a great idea!
Wow! talk about organization! You are the tops!
My seasonal stuff, including a few wall hangings are packed away in boxes. The theory is that each time I change my wall/shelf decor, I will just pull out the correct boxes (labeled) and voila! That's the theory. (don't)ask me if it works!
I don't have many table runners, but I also store them in this manner. Works great and yours look even better since you have them all so nicely tagged as well.
you are super organized...got into the closet cleaning mood yesterday...thanks to you...now just have to clean out the drawers.
I even gave my machine a good cleaning.
Super idea! I don't have that many table runners or toppers, but as I make more, I'll keep this idea in mind.
Wow! Great idea! You are so organized.
Wow!!! You are getting waaay too organized!
Great idea!
Oh my Goodness gal you are killing me here!!
Maybe you just need to get on down here and work your magic here!!
Promise I will try to find the guest bed for you!!;-(
Looks great!!
I use those hangers to for WIP and tops to quilt.
Hugs,
Lola
You are just way to clever! You could end up on Tip Nut with this one. :-)
Great idea! Thanks! Wish I were that organized!
Great idea, cute id cards. I don't have that many holiday quilts so mine are on constant display in the sew room.
Great idea... if only I had an extra closet in my little old house.
You sure have a nice selection of holiday themed runners and quilts!
That is such a great idea! Wow - you have a lot of runners!
How clever you are!
Great idea Pat...mine are folded and stacked, or on top of each other on a rack....not good to many folds!
Time to look at my closet, thanks for the tip.

What a great idea. Now all I need is a closet. Ah, well.....
What a nice way to organize your seasonal items.
I need to make a few table runners to decorate for the seasons. It is not something that I made- I tend to make large bed quilts.
I can see my quilting dream list continues to grow.
Those some great organizational tips.
Warmest regards,
Anna
Well aren't you the smartest person on the planet!
Pat
