WOW....impressive......

I have had many entries already on the giveaway of an AccuQuilt GO! cutter on my blog. (If you missed the post about that, look on the sidebar for it and click there to get the information you need so you can enter the drawing...even if you already HAVE a GO!, you can still participate.) I have been very impressed with the charity projects so many of you already do...and the ones you promise to do if you are a lucky winner!!!

I have had a huge amount of non-fun (read that: non-quilty) stuff that has been taking up my time recently, but I did finish Jelly Roll Block # 10....I varied it a bit and made it to my own style. Here is a picture of it. You can see it better if you click to enlarge it. (It's not been squared yet.)There are 2 more blocks to go. I don't like a few of them so far....so I may look very carefully at the 12 blocks when they are completed and cut it down to my favorite 9 and be done with it. The remaining 3 blocks can then go in my bag of "orphan blocks". NOW......I need a favor from you. Many of you know I used to post every day and then scaled back to about every other day. Today would have been a day I'd post, but I didn't have an early-morning post here and one of my good blogging pals emailed me to ask where I was. She gets up and looks at blogs in the morning and noticed mine wasn't updated today. Thanks for missing me, Tonya!!! :)

I got home very late from guild last night and there had been bad storms...traffic lights out along the route home....some areas with no power....and still SO hot and humid, so I didn't do a post to show up early today. Anyway....here it is now. (Probably not worth the wait for you, Tonya.....LOL)

This is block # 9 of the Jelly Roll quilt-along. I am still not pleased with how all of these blocks are looking. While I do like a couple of them as patterns, I'm not happy with the colors I am having left in my jelly roll. I sure hope I can figure out a sashing color that ties them all together nicely OR they might be added to my "orphan" blocks and become parts of various other projects!!!

Jelly Roll Block #7.....

You can see on my sidebar that I have been participating in a Jelly Roll quilt-along. This is my block #7. Please excuse the fact that the block hasn't yet had a proper pressing! I am still not crazy about my blocks....and think it's because I should have added several more fabrics to the jelly roll I'm using, but...I'm also still hoping that my sashing and borders can pull it all together.

First block in the Jelly Roll quilt-along....

This is a photo of the first block I have made in the Jelly Roll quilt-along. (Information is on my sidebar, if you want to join or look at the blocks made by everyone else.) I am using a jelly roll from Moda's Fig & Plum fabric line. I won this awhile back from Debi (thanks, Debi) and I never knew what I wanted to do with it. This quilt-along seems like it will be fun. I am not really happy with the dark burgundy pieces I put in the center of this one, BUT....there will be other dark burgundies in upcoming blocks, so I'm sure it will all balance out in the end.

GOOD news.....the book I spoke about last week.....Leaving Gee's Bend......arrived in the mail yesterday. I am hoping to get it read within the next day or two. (My darned part-time typing job keeps getting in the way of "stuff", though.....ya know??? LOL) I will be sure to report on the book here when I finish with it. Oh, yes....be sure to check out the Tree Time BOM that is listed on my sidebar. It is being done by Molly, a blogging friend in Texas, and if you click on the little picture there, you can go and get the patterns, too. It is cute......and others have told me it is quite easy to make. Cute and easy......two words that work for me!!!
