10 Things to Do in 2009

The other day my blogger buddy, Sara, had a list of 10 things she hopes to do in 2009. Some things she posted are the same as what I'd like to do. I realize the largest part of my life, so far, has been spent thinking of things I can do for others and then doing them. I've not been in the habit (as most women aren't) of doing things for ME. Getting up in years (having had a milestone birthday in 2008), I realize I now have to start to plan things I want to do....while I have the good health that allows me to do them. Below is my list. There is nothing lofty or fancy about it....just things for ME, basically...that will make me feel good....things that are not impossible to do.....things that would make ME happy....and I think I deserve that at this stage in my life!!! :) What kinds of things do you hope to do in 2009? I'd be interested in hearing your list, too. OH...and go visit Sara's blog, too, okay? Click here to find her.

10 Things I'd Like To Do In 2009 (in no particular order)

1. Go through closets and drawers and GET RID of things I don't use or really need any longer by donating them to those who can use them.
2. Improve my newly-acquired knitting skills.
3. Make a quilt for ME with the batik fabrics I've been collecting as I will enjoy them better that way than if they continue to sit in a drawer.
4. Get my blood pressure under control by losing weight and eating better so I can be around for many more years.
5. Start to catch up on my scrapbooking as I am WAY behind on that and those photos need to be put into the scrapbooks.
6. Go on a nice driving vacation at our own pace that we plan as we go along...stopping when we feel like it and staying until we are ready to leave.
7. Take some of the day trips we've been planning for a few years now.
8. Enter a quilt to be judged in our local quilt show.
9. Try to read one book a month, which is less than I used to do but more than I've done lately!
10. Make better use of the many quilting books and patterns I have instead of letting them sit well-read BUT unused.
