See this gift bag? It started out as a plain brown one and I used fabric (and instructions from a class) make it look this nice. I really did love it. I gave it as part of the gift to a quilting friend I no longer see very often. She did seem to appreciate it and I hope she kept it...as it was a LOT of work. Too much work to want to make another one (although I've been tempted).......LOL (MIGHT have shown this before on the blog....can't recall. If so, sorry for the repeat.)
A few updates.....Halloween here was quiet...not a single trick-or-treater. We don't usually get many (only 2 or 3 here) but this year, we had to be out for a church commitment from about 3:30 and didn't get back until 7:30.....and it was a tiny bit drizzly then. That's okay......I taught elementary school for years and between that and having kids, I saw more than my fair share of costumes. In NJ, we got tons of them and usually ran out of candy before we ran out of trick-or-treaters! I like that some groups are now doing the "trunk-or-treat"...safer, too, I think.
Granddaughter will go back to school Monday as it looks now. I hope her immune system is strong enough to fight off germs now. I'd hate to see her have any kind of relapse. Thanks for all the kind comments on her pictures posted here yesterday!
Baby Maddy is still in the NICU but wearing regular clothes now and her mommy and daddy have been able to hold her....all steps in the right direction. Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming for her, okay? AND....lastly.....did you remember to turn your clocks back an hour last night here in the U.S.A.? If not, then you are reading this an hour EARLIER than you think it is! hehehe

Really cute gift bag, Pat! But I understand not wanting to do so much work to make another more. I'm in NJ, and we don't get trick or treaters either. I don't think your state matters, just the area in which you live. Ours is semi-rural, a long walk from house to house. I'm up early with the time change, don't forget to re-set your clocks.

Pat I turned my watch back last night and the computer changes automatically. So I do know the time. hehehee
We had one set of 3 trick or treaters, they were cute and polite. I had forgotten how much fun it can be to see them.
Forgot all about the time change, got ready for church an hour early--oh well, better than an hour late!
Maybe door to door trick or treating is a thing of the past. We did not have anyone either. Love the bag! I'm so glad to hear your granddaughter and Maddy are improving.
No trick or treaters here - don't miss it - the doorbell drove the dogs crazy!!!! Out here in the boonies - I'd be afraid to open the door after dark!!!LOL
Great bag - dumb question-did you sew that over a paper bag - or just make a cloth bag - it's beautiful!!!
That bag is great. We don't have many trick or treaters either which is fine with me. I have 4 grandchildren and they all came by. We also had a couple of friends bring their children over. My crazy son in law was the hit of the night. I am still shaking! Glad your babies are getting better.
The bag looks familiar....perhaps I've seen it before..can't be sure but either way I still enjoy it as it was sure pretty!
That's a really pretty gift bag Pat. It's ok if you showed it before, my memmory is so bad it's like seeing something brand new...you'd be safe to show it tomorrow too LOL.

Love the gift bag! We had > 200 trick or treaters...so were quite busy with the little goblins, it was a great time.
That's a great bag and don't worry about having shown it before. With my memory these days it all seems new to me! Thanks for the updates. We set our clocks back an hour here in Canada too. About 80 ghosts and goblins came to my house last night. That was a lot less than last year. We had about 175 kids then.
I love that gift bag. You might have shown it before because I think I remember seeing it but glad you shared it again as if I could find the time, I would make one that could hold my Christmas cards. Glad that baby Maddy is making steps in the right direction. Keeping all in my prayers.
