Blocks for a row-by-row quilt.......

Our Lakeside Ladies (some of whom are in PA with me right now.....I wrote this post ahead of time to automatically appear today) have been involved in a row-by-row quilt....using our own rules (that differ from the way row-by-rows are often made). We each chose a block that we would make for ALL the quilts. Each of us decided if we wanted our rows to be 5 blocks or 6 blocks wide. We each bought our selection of fabric and put it into a bag. We passed the bags around and took turns making the right number of blocks for each other. We decided NOT to join them together as the quilt "owner" might wish to use sashing (as I intend to do). There is one more set of blocks to be made for mine....and I am hoping we can get these blocks all done soon so each of us can start making our quilt tops with them. Below is a photo of the 5 styles of blocks so far and I think they are really nice!!!

You gals have so much imagination about how to enjoy quilt-making! These are beautiful blocks with a unique row-by-row plan. I think your PA weather has been perfect for your get-away since it's been beautiful here in southern Jersey. I hope you are enjoying the same brisk fall air and beautiful colors. Looking forward to photos!

I like your "row by row" idea. The fabrics in your blocks are lovely. All the finished blocks look great and it will be fun to see how the quilt looks once you add sashing. Hope you are having a really great time!

You are so fortunate to belong to a small group of quilters to "hang" with. I know that you are having a great time this week.
