Okay......after today, just one more post about my bottomless Amish shopping bag. Today I am going to show you some pre-quilted fabric (with nice fabrics on BOTH sides....think that might be called double-faced). I intend to make a set of 6 placemats for my table with this fabric. In our area, pre-quilted fabric (with nice fabric on just
one side) is about $10 a yard. This was $11.50 per yard and since the placemats will be reversible, I think that was a terrific deal. One side has some yummy-looking fruits and pretty flowers on it.
The other side has ivy and I have a lot of kitchen accessories that are ivy-themed and my kitchen walls are now a pretty shade of green, so this side will be great on my table. I got a nice green that goes with both sides for the binding. Oh....one more cute thing to show you (photo below this ivy fabric) that was in my Amish shoppping bag.....
This is a cute little dog. I'm not thrilled with his bow being orange and might change that, but otherwise, I love him. I think I need to give him a name and I think I'll call him Zook. I bought him at Zook's shop....the Mennonite store where I got the casserole carrier and the Amish bag and some of the fabrics I've shown already. Isn't Zook cute? (I think he'd be easy to make, too.....so I might try to make others as baby gifts...or maybe not...I just looked and I think he might be harder than I thought. *sigh*)

Did you find the seam where Zook was turned? I would think it was on the back end. It looks to me like everything else could be machine sewn. Although I would prefer doing less piecework for something like this. What size is he?

Zook has the shape of a Scottish Terrier -- very cute! I love the double-sided quilted fabric. I've never seen that anywhere else. It's perfect for placemats, and will make it so easy to put them together!
Zook is the cutest! I think I have seen a pattern for him in a magazine. I will look for it, but I can't promise anything because I can never find what I am looking for when I am looking for it. Does that make sense? I usually find it much later, when looking for something else. Great fabric for placemats! They will look lovely.
Zook is my kinda dog, low low maintenance. :) Very pretty double sided fabric.

A friend many moons ago who taught me to quilt would sit and make those little doggies. She is gone now but the memory of the doggies was brought back to me today when I saw it on your post.
I love Zook and prequilted fabric. Remember I call it "the stuff I love". haha from a previous post of mine.
I think that Amish shopping bag really MUST be bottomless. What a great haul you got on your outing! Love the pre-quilted fabric. It will make very nice placemats (and so easy). Zook is a cutie - but I agree; he needs a different colour bow - one to match his muted palette.
Are you sure there's nothing else hiding in that bag?
Zook is very easy to make, I've maded several and I'm getting ready to make three more for Xmas. I make the head a little bit different from yours and add a little felt tongue and floppy ears to mine. Check out my blog, I have several pictures - the patriotic puppy.

I have a very sweet little dog that my hubby's aunt made for me from vintage quilted fabric. She gave it to me years ago, when she knew that I loved quilt. She is gone now, but she was a real encourager.
The puppy is adorable....good luck on your surgery.
