Many of you have heard me talking about my daughter requesting a wall-hanging that she wanted to look "old world Italian"...and I figured something kind of like a marble floor pattern. She had specific colors in mind. I made it as part of her Christmas gift and yesterday my husband got it hung on her wall for her. This was him doing that.
This is it when he had the sofa back in place. I'm thinking I could have made it longer, but it does look nice on her wall.....and she is happy with it
and the colors look good in her room.
The last picture shows it up closer...not close enough to see the quilting
or the detail (burgundy piecing) in the brown border.
BUT...it will give you an idea of how it looks.
I'm glad she likes it as I'm not such a good designer.
This is a simple design but it looks nice and
doesn't overpower her room at all...which is good.

That is a lovely wall hanging. It goes beautifully with the couch. You daughter is lucky to have a mother who can make such pieces. I know how she feels, as I have a daughter who makes wall hangings for me!
Sounds like you had a really nice Christmas. Best wishes for the New Year.
Hey Pat, The wallhanging looks gorgeous! I LOVE it, and I adore the idea of hanging it with a curtain rod and curtain rings. I had not thought of that and may have to try that if I ever make a wallhanging to go over my couch. LOL
The wallhanging looks great! It's not easy designing something from another person's specifications, but it looks like you accomplished just that! Good job!
I think you need to celebrate for a job well done; what could you do??
I know! celebrate by going to your LQS and spend some $$$, LOL! It looks fantastic on the wall Pat.
Pat- what a lovely wall hanging! I would say you are a mighty fine designer. I hesitate to link on to other peoples sites because I can't return to the site I came from. I think your site might be one of them. I wonder if anyone else has the same problem. Happy New Year to you. Pat.G.
Having a Ta Da is so satisfying isn't it? I just love what you did Pat! It looks beautiful and seems to fill your daughter's request in spades! The color choices are perfect, just love them. You did a great job and I'll bet she loves it. She's going to be spending a lot of time just standing there grinning up at it. Those are the things that transform a room, how great you were able to do that for her.
That turned out really pretty. I know she is pleased with it...I would be!
It's pretty. I'm so glad she liked it.
I have a quilt hanging behind my couch. I love that look.
