Disappearing 9-patch progress......

Even though I had to go to a back-up sewing machine (and even though my "good" new Janome ate one of my quilt blocks), I did manage to get all the blocks made. This picture shows them laid out in rows. I see at least two blocks I'm going to move around, but....overall....I'm very happy with the way it has turned out so far. I don't think I'm going to do a border. It's plenty big enough for a throw...and that's what I wanted. I think I may get out some of my seasonal fabrics and make some easy table runners using the disappearing 9-patch method, because I found it fun to do.This is a bit of a close-up shot. You should be able to click on it to see it closer.
Please keep hoping and praying for good weather here so the roof work can get completed SOON. The stress is beginning to get to me! It's exactly a month ago today that the tree came down on the roof. (We chose to delay the start of repairs, as you may recall, until Aug. 24 since we had the grandkids....but now I want it finished....fast!)

You are amazing! That DNP is gorgeous! And it looks very difficult. I might even try it!!
All the rain is headed this way for the rest of the week, so hang tight, your work will be done soon. Hmmm, that sounds like a fortune cookie.

I love those colors together.

I always like to lay out the D9P so that the small squares form a chain. I am a little OCD that way.

Very pretty Pat, I don't see any pieces that need to be moved.

I can't believe it's been a month already, I can understand you wanting it all done as quickly as possible!!

Just back from a little trip and catching up on blog posts -- this disappearing 9-patch looks hard! I know there's a method though, so it must be fun.

Love the quilt. Isn't that a fun pattern? How did the machine eat your quilt block?

Needled Mom said...

I just figured it out.....you had kept the machine on a diet while the kiddos were there. No wonder it ate the block!

Reminds me of tile- sweet quilt top. I hate home repairs.

Gorgeous Pat! I really love this one so much. I pray for your repairs to be done past, you have been contending with the job long enough for sure.

I wouldn't put a border on that quilt either...I think a simple binding will really make that quilt stand out!!! It turned out beautiful...

Keeping fingers crossed for a speedy finish to the house...

Pat, I'm not familiar with this pattern and I'm not sure how you accomplished this beautiful quilt top. Please enlighten me when you get a chance! Good luck on your repairs -- other than a small transition strip that is on order, my re-do is DONE! Praise the Lord.
We are going to have a party on Fri or Sat to show it off and to celebrate. Wish you could come.

Pat love the colors you have used here. I love D9P. Fast easy and you get a neat look.
You could 'birth' this one too.
We had a slow rain all day and much cooler.
Think the wet stuff is out of here for a bit now. I can only imagine how stressed you feel, bet I would be too by now!
Hugs,
Lola

Ooohhhh... I like! How are you planning to quilt it?

I will close my eyes and wish for good weather to go to you (even if it means we get rain here). Okay?
