I miss sewing..........*sigh*

I had hoped to be doing some hand-sewing while the grandkids are here but I got all of a half hour done on one project...not enough to show yet. It seems between keeping up with the kids AND keeping up with my medical typing, I barely have any time for myself......just enough to use the "potty" and write a daily blog post it seems.....LOL I'm having a good time, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss having at least an hour to myself each day.

Anyway....yesterday we went to the bay beach (safer beach for the kids and they loved it). I'm putting a photo here of hubby with the kids and you can see the Cape May - Lewes Ferry in the background. (Should be clickable to enlarge.) This beach is in the town of Lewes, Delaware, right on the Delaware Bay...about a half mile from where the bay meets up with the Atlantic Ocean....really nice area. The kids had a blast. Then we came home...had lunch...and then went to the pool, where more fun was has. Came back...showered and took a one-hour nap (ALL of us) and then got up and went out to an area diner to eat. I then did typing while the kids were amused by "Grampy"......yay!!!! I really crash each night within 15 - 20 minutes of them going to bed......guess I'm not as spry as I used to be, huh? (Guess this is why we don't have babies when we are my age, either!!! LOL)

OH......Karen at Sew Many Ways is having a fabulous giveaway. I really want to win, but I don't want to be selfish and not give you a chance to enter...so I'm (reluctantly) telling you about the giveaway.......hahaha!

Tomorrow is our 42nd wedding anniversary...not sure where the time went. We got married just before hubby went to Vietnam...can't believe it's that long ago now. We won't do any celebrating with the kids here, though. Daughter brought an ice cream cake that we all enjoyed on Friday night when she got here and that will be the extent of any anniversary festivities for us this week.

Happy Anniversary Pat ~ 42 years that's amazing! Thanks to your husband for his service to our country (he looks like a great grandpa too). Have a fun visit while the kiddies are there.

Best anniversary wishes, for all days regardless of which one you get to celebrate. ;)

Oh, I feel your pain! I will have the 18 mo old granddaughter here this week and leave next week for retreat, so I have to get all packed before she comes...LOL Today is the day....
When my granddaughter was here, I gave her a bunch of leftover squares I had cut for a project. She spent hours "designing a quilt" on the floor...

Congratulations! 42 years is something to celebrate. When the grandkids go home, you can do something special- just the two of you.

Happy Anniversary!! Gosh, enjoy the time with those grandkids you now just how quickly it passes....soon they will be in their teens and not wanting to spend near as much time with grandparents, right?

Hope you have a wonderful anniversary.

I know how much you enjoy the kids, but it is nice to have a little down time to yourself too. It's too bad they don't still take naps.

Cute grandkids. It is fun to have them around and I love mine dearly but then you realize that you are set in your own schedule of things that you do all of the time and now can't. I feel the same way that you do...
Congrats on your anniversary. We were married 41 years this year. Where does the time go?

Having grandkids really does play havoc with our regular routines, doesn't it? I cannot believe how set in my ways I am and having a 3-year-old around reminds me how much of a routine I keep--well, at least when I DON'T have a 3-year-old around. However, I am loving all the fun we are having!

First of all, Happy Anniversary, my dear friend! That's a long time to be married...and to the same person... :)

The beach looks wonderful - I wish I were close enough to water - I'd be in it...SO HOT today...

That water looks so wonderful. I am like Sara. I wish I was close enough to go visit it. My 30th anniversary is this year. I hope I'm still alive to say 42!! ;-)

Congratulations on your 42nd anniversary. No small feat! My husband and I celebrated our 42nd awhile ago too. The beach looks like fun. Wish I could join you guys.
