A finished project.......about time, huh???

Several weeks back, I showed this before it was quilted and before the binding was on it. The focus fabric is really cute teapots (look closer by enlarging) that was given to me by a blogging friend who lives nearby. I finished it on the weekend and love how it looks as an insulated mat for a teapot (or any hot dish or pan). The quilting is just simple quilt-in-the-ditch. I used Insulbrite and also batting, as recommended. Here are three pictures of it finished. The second one shows the paisley print on the reverse side...which I like, too. The 4 squares on the main side of the piece were done with paper-piecing...which you know I enjoy doing.NOW.......a notice I'm keeping on the blog for many days this month. Beginning on Wed., Aug. 12 and lasting through Sunday, Aug. 23, I won't be able to follow blogs very often and will rarely be able to reply to comments on my blog. I will be in the midst of caring fulltime for two of the grandkids. I'll pre-schedule most of the posts here and will also pop in a few "current" ones with photos of the kids, I'm sure. I just want all of you to understand why I won't be replying very often to you....don't want you to think for even a minute that I have lost interest or don't care, because you know I really enjoy all of your blogs and your comments here, too. I will just be too busy to do much online!!! (This Grammy will need her sleep as soon as the kids are in bed each night, I'm sure.....LOL)

That quilt is just adorable. That is the size I should do, otherwise I just fill my cupboards with UFOs.
Have fun with the kids.

The Teapot quilt is adorable. But don't you just hate to cover it up with the tea things?

What a cute mat for your teapot. And what a good idea. I think I'll make one that covers the whole center section of my table so I don't have to put down several hot pads to protect the table under each dish. Enjoy the time with your grandkids!

Very pretty! I think it's so nice a decorative piece, but how cool is it that you can actually use it!
