A couple of years back, I won these 12 birdhouse BOM blocks in a raffle at a guild meeting (in a guild to which I belonged at that time). They have been sitting in a bag since that time and I just found them again yesterday. Some have to be trimmed down and a few need some extra strips added as they are too small. Luckily, I still have some of that green from when I made my block...mine is the middle block in the third row. I will need to find a fabric that works for the sashing and border and get moving on this. It's a good quilt for spring! A couple of the blocks even have "birds" inside the birdhouses like the one I showed close-up here.

Pat those are simply adorable!
these are really cute.
a white sashing would give it a fresh look.
just my 2 cents.
:D
Those are really cute blocks. That's the hardest thing about winning blocks...very rarely are they the same size. It will be pretty when you get done with it.

It's a great time of year for birdhouses -- enjoy working with them!
Those birdhouses are just great. I collect birdhouses for the yard. It wasn't a concerted effort, they just started mulitiplying. Love the symbol. I know you are going to spruce up those blocks with what you do with them. They are so cute.
These are adorable! They will make such a cute quilt. I have a 'collection' of birdhouses on my deck. No occupants, just the houses!

It will be such a cute spring quilt. Good luck with finding the perfect fabric.
Love the birdhouses! Have fun finishing this project -- will enjoy seeing the finished piece!
That will be adorable. I would use a small cat print but not everyone likes cats as much as me. Have fun with it Pat. Hugs
What a fun find! I like the birdhouses. Each one unique. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Very cute and definitely worth finishing! I like the idea of the white sashing as suggested by the other gal with the great name.
Those are so cute! I know it's easier to get excited about someone else's UFO's than our own but I'd finish those in a heartbeat. Easy for me to say since they're not mine, huh?
I like these and can't wait to see the finished product.
I love the little blue birdie, so cute. That is going to make such a tweet-, I mean sweet spring quilt :)
They are adorable Pat! Sad when all the blocks are not the same size...
Just a thought here... instead of "adding" to the smaller blocks, would cutting them all down to the same size (leaving 1/4" at the roof peak of course) not work?
A cream colored sashing might work nicely... 8-)
Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will turn out wonderful... 8-)
Happy stitchings!
What a 'tweet' wall quilt this will be...;-) whites ..creams.. blues you will find the fabs that works for you. Reminds me I have some swap blocks I really should bring out and finsh up at least into tops!
Great birdhouses. Can't wait to see what you're going to do...
Those birdhouses are wonderful. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!!

So clever and so darling.
Lucky you! I have been planning to make a birdhouse quilt for my SIL but haven't seemed to get around to it. Thanks for the nudge.
Well, Pat, I've heard of Twitter, of course, but now your blogging friends have developed a new communication language -- Tweets!
What a Tweed idea!
