I am having big-time sewing withdrawal. Since the first grand arrived on Aug. 12, I've not touched my sewing machine at all. I had a couple of hand projects to do, but I only got a total of maybe 90 minutes done on one...not even enough to show yet. SO....I just had to go in and look at my "stuff" last night and tell myself what I will do on Monday. (Can't start, though, until after the packers come and pack up our master bedroom and bath under my supervision...so the work can begin on repairing the roof and ceiling damage done by the falling tree a few weeks ago).
Here is what I hope to do after I am done with the packers.....
Get the 12 signature swap blocks done (have 4 completed so far and the rest mostly done)...

Put the brown print border fabric on my friend's family quilt. (I have the border cut...just need to sew it on).

Make myself a new pillowcase out of this fun ladybug fabric and this fun green fabric....because I've had a rough couple of weeks and some stressful ones yet to come (with the house repairs) and I deserve a fun pillowcase like that...don't you agree? LOL If I get really lucky, maybe I can even pull out another project and work on that, too!!! Yippee...sewing machine....I'm almost back with ya.......

I hope Monday plans work out for you. I know you are missing that sewing machine!
The pillowcase seems to be the most likely and easiest to get done. And putting your head down on that cheery fabric will just make up for the stress of the day with the builders!!!
I totally understand, Pat. I am ready to get back to my "regular" routine also.
I can't wait to see what blocks I get in the swap!
Pat sounds like you have got a totally full day of fun, excluding the packing of course.
Yep you deserve a new pillowcase and anything else you would need to help relieve the stress you will be under. We are here to hold your hand through the reconstruction!!

Enjoy as much of your Monday as you can once the packers are done. You've earned doing what you can relax with and enjoy. Although we love them and time is precious, taking care of others 24/7 gets harder as we get older. You've earned some "alone time"! A fun pillowcase is in order. :)
LOVE those siggie blocks, Pat. What nice, bright colors. I know how you miss sewing, since I also am in withdrawl.
Pat, did you know that the Ladybug is Delawares state bug? My machine is better than when it was new, just oh so quiet, just zips along. I appreciate the loan of yours, but am happy to have mine back
Go girl! Making up for lost time :-)
well i hope evey thing work out for you and you get the room pack up. I do hope you get some sewing done.

i'm loving that pillow case.......i mean, laying your head on precious lady buys and GREEN fabric at night, what could be better? i hope all goes well and smooth with the house repairs.
You most certainly deserve to have a fun pillow case - what cute fabric! and you deserve time to sew. Even though I'm sure it's fun to have the grand-daughters visit, it can be stressful so make sure you carve out some time for yourself... after the packers come, of course. Hope all your house repairs go smoothly!
I can relate to that withdrawal totally! We took our granddaughter home Thursday night, I cleaned and washed and straightened up yesterday and pulled out my paints today. Whee! I was having paint brush and canvas withdrawal. Water coloring with a 3-year-old just does not do it for me!!
Love the pillowcase. I bought a yard of some lilac fabric with no real idea what I wanted to do with it - but, it is our state flower. So, I am going to use it to make myself a pillowcase.
I haven't touched my machine in weeks!!!
YOu do have it bad...you have some really nice projects going there too....love the swap blocks...
I know what it's like to not be able to sew. Not fun. Perhaps you'll have sweet dreams of what you'll sew when you put your head to that new pillowcase. :-) By the way forgot to mention what cute hair accessories you got for your grandaughter. Since I only have a grandson, I love to buy things like that for my niece. :-)
Good luck with the packers and repairs...
Woohoo to your plans for bonding with your machine again... 8-)
Love the ladybug fabric! That will be a happy pillowcase to lay your head! 8-)
Hope you are having a good weekend!
That machine won't know what to think.
I hope Monday plans work out for you....I can only go for so long before I get withdrawls too..
You will enjoy it so much more when you get to that machine!

Congrats on the baby! I'd have a hard time doing anything but baby-tmie. TTFN ~ Marydon
OOPS...sorry, Marydon....I can see why you misunderstood...but there is NO new baby. I meant when the first grand arrived here to STAY on Aug. 12....didn't mean we'd had a new arrival!!!
I'm loving that pillowcase too. Sounds like a wonderful project. Hope all the renovations go quickly and without any problems.
