The neighborhood quilting gals....

The gals from the neighborhood were here yesterday for some quilting fun. BAD PAT...... I don't remember to take enough pictures when we get together. There are some nice show and tells when we meet, but I am too busy looking and forget to grab the camera. I did get two photos, though. (Actually I got 3 but the last one showed Sherry stuffing her face and I decided not to embarrass her with that one!) The group photo (sorry it's a bit dark...was shooting toward the windows) shows Linda in the forefront....then Sherry.....then Kaye furthest back in the photo and Joann on the right. The other photo is of Sherry's completed mini flag hanging. We really liked it and were impressed with the fact that she used a really neat fabric for the background...not something any of us would have thought to use for that. (I think if you click the photo, you might be able to see it enlarged.)

Well how clever is that, I just love the pails...much nicer than the typical stars or mini flags type fabric.

I wished I had some gals in my neighborhood that sew. Their all young (like me ;)and think I'm crazy for sewing. They make me feel old. haha I love that mini flag hanging. I recently got something of that sort from Green Fairy Quilts. I need to get working on it, so I can hang it for July 4th.

Sometimes, when we are busy taking pictures, we miss out on the present: what is happening here and now.
You are so fortunate to have a neighborhood group. What fun.

What fun to get together and do some quilting. Time for projects, and some laughter. I'm sure Sherry appreciated your kindness.

That's a darling wall hanging, fabrics are really fun! I love my mini group that is women from our huge quilt guild and we meet once a month rotating homes. It's inspiring to see what others are doing and learn new things.

Looks like you had all the right ingredients - friends, fabric, food and fun!! That's a cute little wallhanging. The background looks very "summer at the beach".
