Happy Independence Day to all here in the U.S.A. and a big thank-you to all who have toiled over the years to guarantee that we continue with our freedoms. God bless those who are serving today to uphold our freedoms, too.
Speaking of independence, this photo shows the independent streak of the homeowner in Salisbury, MD. Apparently, he has a couple of rental homes and the local historic preservation group prohibited him from replacing a window in one of the homes, so...in protest, this is what he did to another of his homes in that area!!! I wonder how the local preservation group likes THIS? (I'm betting they wish they'd let him replace the window in the other house!!! LOL)

Ha ha! I know how he feels. That is exactly why I would never live in a historic preservation area.
Actually I kinda like it LOL. I could never live where someone else tells me what I can and can't do with my house :0(

In Savannah there are historic homes in disrepair because the owners can't get through all the red tape from the historic society. I love what he did.

OMG...You totally know that he showed up at the meeting with a blue paint chip, a red paint chip and of white... and they had no idea!! And now probably can't do anything cause who would think someone would paint their house like that!! Wonderful!!

Yikes - sometimes getting even with others just makes you look plain old silly.
He did a very nice job but I feel sorry for the neighbors who live on either side of this house. You'd have to have a good sense of humor to like this. They didn't do anything to cause his window problem on the other house but yet they are they ones living with how he responded to the historic preservation group's denial for a window change in the other home. I think this house would look better sitting out in the country, up on a hill, with a red barn out back and a field full of amber waves of grain and lots of cows and then a red Farmall tractor in the field, too. Oh, and big oak trees should be surrounding it. :-)

I like it and wouldn't have any trouble living next door. Think of how easy to give people directions to your home! I say, 'right on!'.
I was thinking the same thing as 9patchnurse - giving directions would be a breeze..

I like this house. It wouldn't bother me to live in it or beside it. I still think that if it is your property, you should be able to do whatever you want with it as long as you are not hurting anyone else. That is why we live out in the boonies. No city ordinances or homeowners associations tell us what we can and can't do. (grin) Have a happy 4th, Pat. Winona
