Okay...now for a couple of fun photos. One is of a chicken wishbone that my grandkids decorated with me a few years back. We did several of them and used gold craft paint (can't tell that in the photo very well) and painted the wishbones...let them dry....wrapped twist ties around them so we could attach ornament hangers and hang them easily...and put bows on them. Some have red bows and some have green. When one of the grands hangs them on the tree, I tell them they need to make a secret wish...it's kind of fun...and an EASY project. Just make sure your wishbones are washed well and let to air dry for quite awhile.
Next is a photo of 6 of a set of 12 dolls I made years back with a friend. We started with a cardstock base and glued wooden beads on for heads and used felt, sequins, etc. for dresses. They are all "international" dolls and I enjoy seeing them every year. (The photo should enlarge if you click on it.) They were made at a time in our lives when money was tight...our kids were very small...and there wasn't a lot of money for tree decorations. They are about 30 years old now. They were made with a lot of love. They have a special place in my heart and I hope my daughter and grandkids will value them when I am gone. I hang them with pride on my tree each year!
I feel like I am getting a nasty cold and I hope I'm wrong. I have a handbell concert to play in on Saturday afternoon and a folk group practice that evening and folk group on Sunday morning at church. I don't have TIME to be sick!!! Hopefully, the rest of the stitches come out of my forehead today and there is no further trouble with this area.

Certainally the true spirit of Christmas, I love the dolls, they are adorable and so creative
I love the dolls. If they look as good in person as in the picture, I am sure they add a touch of whimsical delight to your tree. What amazes me is that they look like NEW.
I hope getting the stitches out goes well. AND YES no further trouble.
My "place" was just a barnacle (seborrheic keratosis). Yaay!
Boo hiss LOL hope they get the roof fixed right!
Cute ornaments! I agree they look new.
Good luck getting the stitches out!
Hope your not going to get a nasty cold!
what a great idea with the wishbones, and love those dolls.....
Oh I just love your dolls!! I agree with Gene they look brand new. Get plenty of rest and fluids today and maybe that cold will decided to go elsewhere!
Stupid roof guys....sheesh
Crispy
Pat, That was a really bad storm the other night. We got hit hard here in South Jersey, too. We never lost power but I had a hard time sleeping.
Very cute ornaments, old and somewhat new! We had the same storm but never lost power (for a change!).
Love the wishbone idea - maybe when I have grandkids..............the little dolls you made are adorable!!! Definitely a keepsake, with a story!!!!
Hope you get your leaks fixed soon - !!
those dolls are wonderful....
Never have seen a wishbone ornament before...dolls are sweet and gosh darn...leaks!!
Good for you standing up to the contractor. He better behave, Santa's watching. ;) The little dolls are so cute. Love the wishbone idea. I hate to tell you but the germs are not selective on who attach to. I hope you are better before the concert.
Those dolls are so sweet! Funny how we work so to pull out of the hard times but they end up being some of our sweetest memories.
Oh No! A cold! Hope you can shake it!
Hope you find a remedy that works for ya!
Hugs,
Lola
I hope you are not getting sick, Pat. That would be awful at this time of the year.
Sorry about the roof. I would be beyond upset after having the new roof put on the house.
The little international dollies for the tree are adorable Pat and such a treasure!
How horrid about the roof. With the way they construct roofs these days you'd think there would be no possibility of leaks. Hope it is fixed soon.
I love the dolls. We have similar type ornaments - made of felt in years past when one new ornament a year was a big deal. Wonderful memories.
I hope you are not getting sick and that your roof gets fixed once and for all...what a hassel and worry every time it rains.
Leaks in the roof!?! OH my Pat! It doesn't seem to end for yous!!! Very poor service... Sorry you have to deal with such...
Interesting wishbone ornament! We'd never get them to that stage as we break them to see who gets their wish... 8-)
The dolls are adorable Pat! Love them!!! We made Angels with paper doilies in the same manner at Brownies... when I was Brown Owl... many moons ago now. LOL!

Love the ornaments! One time we had a Sunday School party and everyone told about their favorite Christmas.
Almost all of the stories told were about time when money was tight and people had to make do -- make gifts, etc.
Perhaps prosperity isn't all it is cracked up to be!
Hope you stitched come out easily, you roof doesn't leak, and your day is merry and bright. It is snowing here in Texas!
How magical are those dolls and I can't believe they are 30 years old-the have aged so well!!!
Hope the stitches are out and there is no further problems.
Oh dear, Pat.....it is very dishearting when something's suppose to be fixed and it's not. Hope things work out and soon.
I love the little dolls...how cute!
Pat, that wishbone is too cute. I love those dolls.
