Now...for a few days summer was here (even though spring barely made an appearance yet). It will go back to more springlike weather by the weekend, but on Tuesday (and Wednesday) it was very summery. Living near to beaches, we had to go there and walk around. NOTE: I was NOT one of the folks in swimsuits nor did I venture into the water. Some did...in spite of the water temp being only around 50 degrees! Notice if you click on the first photo, the air temp (on the sign) was 94....no way I could stay home and sew on the first couple of days of summer-like weather. Some of the businesses that aren't yet open for the season...like the ice cream stand in the photo....really lost out the past few days!

Just so you don't think I'm a total slug, here is a photo of a wall-hanging I am hand-quilting at night lately. It was made with Gyleen Fitzgerald's pineapple ruler....which is hands-down a better...and more fun..... technique than any other way to make a pineapple block, in my opinion. (Gee...guess my green preference is showing here, huh? LOL)

What a beautiful day! We haven't visited the beach yet even though it certainly has been more than warm enough. We like to take the dogs but we've just had them groomed so it will be a while before we go.
I've never tried a pineapple block...something to put on my looong list!
Did you see Barb's green purchases? I actually liked them! Maybe I am just ready for spring. Although I think we went from winter straight into summer. My grass was cut yesterday for the first time (of many) this season.
I'm with you on the weather!! But working too much to get to the beach!!
Wallhanging is pretty!
Keep showing those beach and boardwalk scenes!! Love it!!!
The green wallhanging will be perfect for March and St. Patrick's Day next year! Very pretty, and I admire all the finely stitched hand-quilting. My hands don't want to do that anymore, so I've started to tie most things.
How lovely to have a beach within easy reach. It would make these unseasonally hot days actually pleasurable.
Who could resist a walk on the beach? Lucky you!
Well if you aren't quilting, the NEXT best thing to do would be to be on a beach!! GREAT excuse in my book! I'd been right there with ya!
I love your pictures, but I wish summer would let us enjoy spring awhile longer. Your pineapple wallhanging is so pretty. I keep thinking about that ruler, but haven't broken down yet.
Well you weren't alone on wandering the shore line, look at all those people working on their first sunburn of the season LOL.

Oh...I so love the beach....and the green....
With weather like that everyone should be out and enjoying it.
Your green pineapple is going to be gorgeous.
Wow, 94!!! And I thought we were warm because it was in the 60's. LOL!! I like your little green wallhanging. I've got a handquilting project by the TV but it is a large lap quilt and I feel like I am never getting anywhere on it. I think I'm not watching enough TV! :-)
Wow 94 degress...I'd be out in it too....the beach is a great place to feel the sun on your skin and people watch.
There's nothing wrong with a "green" block.....I love green!!!
Yeah Green! Us green girls gotta stick together. So far I never get further than the backyard on sunny days, it really needs a lot of work.
The beach is just beautiul. We had a couple of nice days then the sun left and we have been getting lots of rain.
Your pineapple looks great. I'll have to look into that ruler.
Love all of the beach scenes, and you block reminds me of Ireland.

Sigh... that beach. I am SO jealous!
Not getting much done here and I don't have the weather as an excuse.
The pineapple block is on of my favotites and yours is just Too Cool!!!!!

I am completely jealous. I love the pineapple block. We have our place at the beach rented for the whole summer, from June to August! So I won't be coming down during the summer. My vacation is the last week in Aug into September. I WANT DOLLYS!!!
